Three Months Old!

Look who's three months old!

Dear Ethan,

You are our darling chubber wubber boy!  You actually turned three months old last week, but we were away at the beach so I didn't have a chance to snap your picture.  You are the happiest little guy!  I can't believe what strides you have made since you came home from the hospital.  Things were a little touch and go the first two months, but you seem to have worked through your tummy troubles and now  you are as happy as can be.  You smile all the time and I can't help but just want to smooch those chubby little cheeks!

You chat with us all the time and we love your sweet high pitched squeals!  I'm not sure how much you weigh, but I am guessing somewhere around 16 pounds.  You are quickly following in your brothers footsteps with your size!  You are wearing size 2 diapers now and have just worked your way into 3-6 month clothes.  You are still sleeping swaddled in the swing full time!  I know I need to break this habit soon, but you just sleep so peacefully there that I can't bring myself to do it.  You are drinking 5-6 ounce bottles every 3-4 hours and still get up at least once a night and sometimes twice.  Ugh... Mama is tired!  You don't seem to nap well in the morning... just a few catnaps, but then you will snooze all afternoon.  You still spit up constantly, which is really unbecoming, but we love you anyways... smelly neck folds and all.  You still hate riding in the car.  Interestingly, you do just fine on the ride if someone is right there with you to keep you entertained.  It's only when you have to sit solo that you have an absolute fit!

You are just starting to show an interest in small toys like rattles and shakers, but you are not yet grabbing for them.  You do have an utter fascination with your hands and you are constantly trying to get them in your mouth, but can't seem to keep them there!  Yesterday I put you in the Bumbo and you did quite well with it.  You looked so cute sitting there with your big chubby cheeks and your flat head!  Don't listen when others poke fun... it's really quite charming!

When your brother woke up he just had to get in on the action.  You are such a sport to share your toys.

He was not happy when I told him he had to get out and I got the stink eye.  That brother of yours is quite a character!

Ethan, I am enjoying you so much at this age!  Thank you for all of those sweet smiles that fill my heart to overflowing.  You are a joy and a blessing.  We love you so much!

And the boy grew and became strong.  He was filled with wisdom and the grace of God was upon him.
